Playing longer without killing your battery

Playing longer without killing your battery

Nothing ends a good session faster than a battery warning. The good news is that most mobile games give you more control than you'd think, you just have to dig into the settings. Start with the frame rate cap. Many RPGs default to 60fps, but turn-based games look fine at 30 and use far less power. Racing and arcade games are the exception, keep those smooth. Brightness is the biggest drain. Dropping it a notch or two, especially on dark, moody games like Hollow Lantern, makes a huge difference and often looks better anyway. Finally, close the background apps before a long session. It won't feel dramatic, but over a two-hour commute those small savings add up to real extra playtime.
